Welsh Lamb announces official partnership of Mach Comedy Festival

Welsh Lamb has announced its official partnership of the Machynlleth Comedy Festival which takes place at the end of this month and has even recruited BBC Radio and TV Presenter Arthur Smith as Chef!

 The Festival, which is in its seventh year, showcases some of the best of British Stand-up comedy performed in a series of intimate venues throughout the mid-Wales market town of Machynlleth from Friday 29th April - Sunday 1st May.

 Welsh Lamb is taking its pop-up kitchen and open from mid-morning to tea-time each day to the festival where Chefs will be distributing delicious free samples of Welsh Lamb to hungry festival-goers, the signature dish of the Festival is the freshly cooked, mouth-watering Welsh Lamb Mach Wrap. Succulent Welsh Lamb sourced from local farms infused with fresh herbs and flavoursome spices will be served in a warmed tortilla wrap throughout the day.

And ever wondered what comedians are like in the kitchen? At teatime, on Saturday and Sunday, top comics will be creating culinary comedic chaos live at the Welsh Lamb kitchen in the Plas as they try and whip up a feast alongside a professional chef. The first comic to be announced as one of the Chefs if BBC TV and Radio Presenter, Arthur Smith who will also be broadcasting on BBC Radio 4 Extra from the Festival over the weekend. Come along, watch, laugh and enjoy a sample of their efforts and find out if comedians really can cook!

Phillipa Gill, Brand Marketing Executive for Welsh Lamb said: “Our Chefs will be cooking a variety of dishes and giving away hundreds of free samples to hungry comedy fans over the weekend. This is a great opportunity for us to showcase the versatility of Welsh Lamb in a relaxed and informal atmosphere. I am looking forward to watching the comedians cook up a storm in the kitchen on the Saturday and Sunday evenings.”
