In 2012 Storytellers’ Club returns to Machynlleth Comedy Festival!

On the last night of the Festival, a selection of special comedy guests will be weaving magical campfire tales to blow your mind and break your heart. Storytellers’ Club is the cult creation of stand-up comic Sarah Bennetto, springing to life in 2006, after an evening of comics and musicians telling stories ‘round the campfire’. Shortly after, a monthly club was born, now resident year-round at Pleasance Islington, and appearing at UK music / arts festivals, the Melbourne Comedy Festival, and the Edinburgh Fringe.

Full line-up to be announced very soon. It will be good, trust us.

“A magical idea.” Metro

“Unashamedly literate and lo-fi.” Independent

“You absolutely must go to Storytellers’ Club” one4review

“A charming show, a magical haven of intellectual comedy” Broadway Baby

“Think Jackanory, but without the books or Bernard Cribbins. In fact, don’t think Jackanory at all – just go and see it.” Time Out London, Critics’ Choice.

“The general atmosphere is so warm and hospitable, none but the hardest-hearted of critics could help but fall prey to the gleeful intoxication and camaraderie championed by the show. There is liberal flirting, mic-swapping and impromptu dialogue, and it is a relief, as a reviewer, to see comedians perform in such non-threatening, snug conditions, free from the implicit danger of nail-biting dog-heckle-dog gigs.” Three Weeks, Edinburgh

“Shows like Storytellers’ Club are what make the Comedy Festival so special. To bring all this talent together into the one room and give them the freedom to explore something so unique is what the festival is all about.” Australian Comedy Review, Melbourne

You need to be 14 or over to attend this event. Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.
