Life is hard. Real hard. But life is only as hard as you make it. And this guy likes it hard. So he makes it hard deliberately. And after he makes it hard he makes it harder. Because it’s only once you’ve pushed yourself through the grinder and come out the other side that you truly know what you’re made of. And this guy is made of hard things. He’s hard right now.

After taking a year out because he had to go to a fucking wedding, comedian and inspirationalist Nick Helm lays waste to Machfest with a crunching hour of raucous rock ballads, broken hearted poetry and jokes so epic you’ll name your kids after them. Maybe.

Let’s be honest… worst case scenario – he will be reading everything off of tiny Post-it notes dotted all around the stage in an effort to scramble some semblance of a show together. Best case? It will change your DNA – FOREVER.

‘A full-on assault on the senses of humour, dignity and pathos. It ain’t pretty, but it is hilarious.’ **** Chortle

‘A dazzling hour… Terrifyingly enjoyable.’ **** Evening Standard

‘Brilliant.’ **** Sunday Times

‘A mesmerisingly volatile, unpredictable and laughter-filled experience.’ **** Daily Telegraph

‘His show is invigorating, unpredictable and unreliable. I loved it.’ **** The Times

‘Once again, Helm’s come up with a high-octane, brilliantly silly hour with tons of big laughs throughout.’ **** Time Out

This show will be an hour long.

This show is for over 18’s only. Proof of age will be required.

Additional booking fees are not being charged by the festival this year, but are being incorporated into the overall advertised ticket price. Please see the website for further information.
