Go8Bit is a live comedy/videogaming phenomenon…Join Steve McNeil and Rob Sedgebeer as they present a humorous interactive introduction to the cutting-edge technology developed for the show. Bring a charged smartphone/tablet!

That’s what it’s apparently going to say in the Royal Institution’s Summer Programme.

Basically, we wanted to do some more stuff with them after blagging our way onto their Christmas Lectures on BBC 4, because we’re over-excitable nerds, and they totally called our bluff. They’ve asked us to give a LECTURE to OVER 400 PEOPLE in their main theatre about the technology used in our show. So now Rob’s got to invent about another fifty minutes worth of interactive smartphone stuff by July and then Steve’s got to write a comedy show that it all goes in. At the time of writing, literally none of this stuff exists.

So…if you like videogames, comedy, technology, or just the sight of two men having a nervous breakdown as they realise the enormity of how much more they’ve bitten off than it’s possible to chew, this could be the show for you. 

WARNING: YOU NEED TO BRING A CHARGED SMARTPHONE – YOU WILL PLAY ALONG WITH THE ENTIRE SHOW ON IT. IF THE TECH WORKS. AT THIS POINT, WE’VE GOT LITERALLY NO IDEA. FINGERS CROSSED, YEAH?
