Jonny Pelham has almost, but absolutely not, won a number of comedy competitions – finalist and judges choice in the BBC New Comedy Awards, runner-up in the prestigious So You Think You’re Funny, nominated for Chortle Best Newcomer, he’s pretty much lost them all.

When he was 16 the NHS sent Jonny a letter asking him if he wanted optional surgery on his face to improve how he looked. Having previously been quite happy with how he looked the show will look at the effect of the letter, the realisation that he wanted the operation and the effect the operation has had on his life. Mainly though it will be funny.

“Perfectly structured and sublimely self-deprecating set … Delivered with perfect timing, he was the favourite of the judges (myself included, alongside previous winner Rhod Gilbert and BBC radio comedy supremo Jane Berthoud)” Steve Bennett , Chortle

“Echoes of a young Daniel Kitson … a really striking set” Bruce Dessau
