This year, Sarah embarks on her biggest quest yet: to find a real-life, actual goddamn treasure. A few years ago, an eccentric American millionaire hid a treasure chest somewhere in the Rocky Mountains. Thousands have searched, four people have died (uh oh), but if anyone can find the gold, it’s this crazy dreamer.

Sarah Bennetto has a plan. She’s researched every aspect of this case, and brings the wild story to you. As part of this new stand-up quest show (“squest show”?) there will be an actual treasure hunt hidden all over the town of Machynlleth. Come to the show to receive the first clue. The prize is actual money, and some other cool stuff.

You may know Bennetto as the host and brains behind cult comedy event, Storytellers’ Club (touring internationally), or have heard her on BBC Radio 4, Glastonbury Festival backstage radio, as a regular comedy podcast guest, or have seen one of her many Edinburgh Fringe solo shows. Sure to enthral and delight.

“Self-depreciating, dark, honest and genuinely funny. One of the most enjoyable and original shows I’ve seen this year. It had me laughing out loud more times than I could count. A solid hours of laughs, it culminates in a truly epic finale.” ★★★★½ The Advertiser newspaper, Adelaide

“A sophisticated mix of standup and character comedy, Bennetto succeeds in harnessing the full power of an instinctive comedic mind.” ★★★★ Fest magazine, Edinburgh

“Bennetto delivers effervescent, confident and well-structured stand-up. Her tales of outrageous fortune are suffused with urbanity and wisdom, and buoyed by a lightly rendered sense of nostalgia” ★★★★ The Age, Melbourne

“Superb. Devastating. Edges towards perfection.” ★★★★ ThreeWeeks, UK

Restoration Levy – £1.50 of the advertised on-sale ticket price goes to Machynlleth Comedy Festival for the continued development and improvement of the event.
