Have you ever wondered what stand-up comedy might be like in another language? Here’s your chance to find out. Sort-of.

It started out as a simple idea. While comedians perform in Welsh, the audience will hear an English translation. Live! Only a couple of minor technical hitches, and due to being blacklisted by every translator in the land, the translations will instead be provided… by the comedians themselves.

This anarchic and unpredictable show has continuously sold out at the Machynlleth and Aberystwyth Comedy Festivals since its launch in 2017. Utterly hilarious, you’ll laugh from start to finish – and almost certainly learn a lot about Welsh language and culture along the way.

Starring translator-turned-comedian Steffan Alun and a line-up of the Welsh language scene’s best acts.

Note: This is a bilingual show, performed in Welsh and English. You don’t need to speak Welsh to understand this show.

Ydych chi erioed wedi meddwl sut beth yw standyp mewn iaith arall? Dyma’ch cyfle i ddarganfod. Mewn ffordd.

Dechreuodd fel syniad syml. Tra bod digrifwyr yn perfformio yn Gymraeg, bydd y gynulleidfa yn clywed cyfieithiad Saesneg. Yn fyw! Dim ond cwpl o fân anawsterau technegol, ac oherwydd bod pob cyfieithydd yn y wlad wedi gwrthod y gwaith, bydd y cyfieithiadau yn cael eu darparu yn lle hynny … gan y digrifwyr eu hunain.

Mae’r sioe anarchaidd ac anrhagweladwy hon wedi gwerthu pob tocyn yn barhaus yng Ngwyliau Comedi Machynlleth ac Aberystwyth ers ei lansio yn 2017. Yn ddoniol dros ben, byddwch yn chwerthin o’r dechrau i’r diwedd – a bron yn sicr yn dysgu llawer am yr iaith Gymraeg a’i diwylliant ar hyd y ffordd.
