A 5 star Edinburgh Fringe word of mouth cult hit and winner of the Malcom Hardee Award for Comedic Originality 2025, The Lost Tapes of Somerfield is the first known show of the Retail Bereavement Comedy genre and charts the ups and downs of supermarket obsession.
As a socially isolated teenager, Paul found solace in the glorious aisles of his favourite branch of the 90s and 00s chain Somerfield. Soon he became a self proclaimed fanboy and memorised staff call-out codes and stock room procedures, with the checkout staff becoming his rock stars. His joy was short lived when his beloved Stretford branch closed down and led him to experience the little known five stages of supermarket grief.
