Gerry Howell
Gerry Howell’s Portal of Discovery

This show is from a previous year's festival
“Gloriously inventive” (Chortle.co.uk) Gerry Howell originally intended to perform a play about a comedian struggling to write a show. But things have changed. Gerry’s life imploded, his girlfriend has left him and he’s worried he’s lost his sense of humour. James Joyce once said “a man of genius makes no mistakes. His errors are volitional, and are portals of discovery”.
Now Gerry is making the potentially huge mistake of bringing to Wales a show that bears no relation to his blurb in the brochure. But this is the brochure. Or is it online? I’m confused, and so must you be. But don’t worry, Gerry’s done this show before. It didn’t make a lot of sense the first time but now it does. Sort of. Someone even said Gerry was a bit of a genius. Come and find out how loose a term that has become.
